Mobile commerce has been a big media buzzy thing for ages. ‘Game Changing’, ‘mustn’t be left out’ and other such epithets regularly litter the retail press. It is very difficult for most retailers not to think that here is yet another thing they are clearly failing at.
Am I the only person out there who remains utterly mystified about the way in which the high street clothing industry keeps shooting itself in the foot by being so far ahead of the seasons? Actually, add large retailers generally and it will allow me to add to the pre-Christmas grumbles whilst I am at it!

The British Retail Consortium has reported that internet, mail order and telephone sales have grown again in July by 9.6%. Whilst this is down on June (which showed growth of 11%), it is hugely impressive given the state of high street sales. Not suprisingly then comes the news that more and more businesses are looking to online channels to make their retail operation successful.
